. It's been slip cast and the cute characteristics of the Shiba dog breedis nicely represented, including the sickle-shaped curly tail and clever-looking handsome face with little pricked ears that exhibits the refined nature of the Shiba Inu.
Shiba statue has other color options available : Red, Black and White.

We can make it resistant to the weather by using a different clay material. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to display it outdoors. But, allow at least 1-2 months for your custom order to be ready for shipment.

There is a sticker on the bottom that reads "Seto-yaki"(瀬戸焼). 'Seto-yaki' is a general term for porcelain products made in Seto Japan, which includes all kinds of porcelain items such as animal, human, Disney and more figurines, and also chinaware for practical as well as decorative purposes. "Seto" is a city located in the center of Japan and also the center for Japan's ceramics industry.
The Shiba Statue is
new, fresh from the kiln
though it was cast out of a vintage mold probably dating back to the '70s or '80s, that was passed down from a former manufacturer. In those days, a large quantity of dog figurines was produced in Japan and exported worldwide under various brand names, such as Shafford, Napco or Lefton... Those manufacturers now no longer exist. However, some of their casting molds have been passed down and some dog breeds are still being made in small quantities in a small factory run by a husband and wife team, where this Shiba statue was also made.

Seto is a city located in the center of Japan and also the center for Japan's ceramics industry.
From Occupied Japan Era to the late '70s, Seto-yaki items under various brand names used to be exported worldwide. However, as the ceramics industry has been declining year by year, many manufacturers have been forced to shut down their factories in the last few decades. Now there are still lots of vintage products and reproductions available from manufacturers/retailers out there.
