    Description

RARE 1/8 CDV THERMOPLASTIC UNION CASE - FOR YOUR CIVIL WAR TINTYPE OR AMBROTYPE - EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH MAT PRESERVER & GLASS -
Civil War collectors will recognize this case to commonly be used for images of soldiers during the war. Berg lists this case as 3 - 52 and Scarce to find. The case you are considering includes the hard to find mat, preserver and cover glass to hold a prized image in your Civil War collection.
As a seasoned thermoplastic case collector, I can easy say that CDV cases such as this one do not come to the market very often. Good luck to my winning bidder.
    CONDITION
    :
Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The early 1/8 plate case retains good hinges, the standard solid velvet pillow adjacent to the image compartment. The case retains the clasp system which works. As mentioned above he case also includes the original paper label, wonderful velvet pillow, the preserver, mat and old cover glass. The only condition issue is the common small chip seen at the clasp, otherwise this is a very fine example. The mat area measures approximately 3 3/4 X 2 1/2 inches so you will know if your tin or ambro will fit properly. I will carefully ship this item to the winner by Priority Mail.
