    Born: Jan. 24, 1838 - Died: March 4, 1883
    Corporal in Baltimore County Horse Guards
    Arrested by Federal Troops and imprisoned at Fort McHenry
    for a short time.
    August 31, 1861, joined command of Colonel Turner Ashby
    March 1862, commissioned as Captain in Twelfth Virginia Cavalry
    Served in the Valley Campaign
    Served under special assignment to "Stonewall" Jackson
    Arrested during Sharpsburg Campaign - 5 months in prison
    May 27, 1863, promoted to rank of Major
    Commanded 1st and 2nd Maryland Cavalry at Gettysburg
    Organized six companies of Rangers to fight in the
    Shenandoah Valley
    1870s served as Baltimore City Police Commissioner
    I could go on...and on....Gilmor had an incredible career in the C.S.A
    and beyond.
