    Vintage, original albumen photograph on on CDV from the Civil War of Alonzo D. Brown (1840-1925), enlisted on 25 October 1861 into Company A of the New York 76th Infantry.   A note in the family album says he "could send and receive telegraphic messages & carry on conversation".   He was wounded at Gainesville, Virginia, on 28 August 1862, and lost a leg but was not discharged for disability until 13 February 1864, at Alexandria, Virginia.   No back mark, and in fine condition.  The album page with note is included.
